7. Neurodiversity Resources

It's estimated that 15-20% of children and young people in the UK are neurodivergent, meaning they have brains that function differently from what is considered typical. This figure equates to approximately one in five children and includes conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and Tourette's syndrome.

It is likely that whilst coaching one of our youth teams, you are coaching a neurodivergent child. Below are some resources to support you to ensure they are able to access your sessions alongside their neurotypical team mates.

With this in mind we have appointed an Inclusion Officer (Natalie Wigzell) from the start of the 26/27 season. Natalie runs NeuroRelate, a not for profit set up to support families navigating Neurodiversity.

We have set up our own Neurodiversity Toolkit, designed to equip coaches with more information on how they can better support and understand any challenges their players may be facing.

CALM CORNER

In the summer of 2026, we opened our Calm Corner, a dedicated space alongside our 1st team pitch for neurodiverse individuals to watch 1st team games from. Calm Corner provides exactly that, a calm space in the corner of the ground where you can watch the game away from the hustle and bustle of a matchday.
