The pre-season fixtures keep coming thick and fast for Kings Langley as they travel to Buckinghamshire to face Southall FC on Monday evening. The match will be played at The 1878 Stadium, the home of Burnham Football Club, a ground that our upcoming Isthmian League opponents are currently sharing while they strive to find a new stadium closer to their base in the London Borough of Ealing.

Kings secured their first victory of pre-season in their last outing at Tring Athletic on Saturday afternoon, running out 3-2 winners thanks to goals from Kieran Patterson, Cheyce Grant and Tecane Shrowder. With a turnaround of just a smidge over 48 hours before tonight’s game, boss Jordan Parkes will be closely monitoring the fitness of his squad, while of course hoping to continue the upwards momentum.

Since the full-time whistle at the weekend, goalscorer Kieran has signed on for the new season, having previously represented Langley at under-18’s level. We have also today confirmed the signing of young defender Shaun Keane, who is likely to feature for the first time against Southall.

There is no recent history of fixtures between the two clubs to call upon, but, similar to their first two pre-season fixtures, Kings can expect a challenging encounter as they gear up for the competitive opener against Cirencester Town on the 12th of August.

Tonight will provide another useful opportunity for Jordan to assess the current options, while evaluating the suitability of some more trialists, who will be staking their claims to be a part of the first-team squad for the 2023/24 season.
