No. 25 Saturday 30th November 2013. Spartan South Midlands League – Division 1
Kings Langley 5 (Insley 6, Hallissey 18, Connolly 36pen, Campana 37, Pritchard 76)
Arlesey Town Reserves 0
After a two week break, Kings were quickly out of the starting blocks and gave Arlesey little time to settle. A Dean Hitchcock illness forced a changed formation, but Paul Insley had them ahead from close range after just six minutes, following Alex Campana’s byeline dribble and low cross. The latter was inches over with a savage shot minutes later and Adam Hallissey saw his header saved by Sam Wyer, before a move of classic simplicity put Kings further ahead. Craig Preston brought the ball out of defence, pinpointed a long ball to Alex Campana, who’s diagonal pass got Paul Insley behind the defence and his instant cross was side-footed home by Adam Hallissey. Arlesey had their first meaningful attack on the half hour as Lewis Foster beat the home defence and the advancing Ant Ladyman to the ball, but put it past the post. This stung Kings into effectively ending the contest shortly after, as a mazy Callum Adebiyi run ended in a trip in the area and Gary Connolly duly converted, before winning possession on the restart and slotting the perfect through ball for Alex Campana to round the keeper. The second half lacked such drama, but the home side fashioned several more chances without reward, while the physical presence of Lanre Adebiyi in midfield for Town steadied the ship a little, with Craig Cawcutt missing their only other goal chance on the far post. The last word on a cold but comfortable afternoon for Kings came when Lewis Pritchard beat Wyer to Tom Carter’s cross, ensuring that all four of the goalscorers from open play hit double figures for the season so far.
