Kings Langley 4 (Sam Warrell 26, Jimmy Armstrong 30, 73 pen, 82)
Wodson Park 1 (Dan Ferriono 60)
It was a case of back to winning ways for Kings Langley as they dominated the first half, survived a second half fight back byWodsonParkand finally ran out comfortable winners. Paul Hughes experimented with his line up and gave debuts to Alex Forsey and Matt Byrne, while bringing in Joe Gallagher after a season away. An early chance for Park’s Courtney Clay was blocked by Ross Hampton before Joe Gallagher put three good chances narrowly wide. Don Ferriono came close for the visitors, before Kings pressure was rewarded when Sam Warrell’s low drive from outside the area gave them the lead, and then Jimmy Armstrong latched on to a Joe Gallagher through ball to round the keeper for a 2-0 interval lead. Park came back out with all guns blazing and Don Ferriono pulled one back on the hour when he beat two defenders to score. However, ten minutes later Ben Bailey was red carded for bringing down Jimmy Armstrong and the hitman converted the penalty. With the visitors’ heads dropping, Jimmy Armstrong completed his hat trick eight minutes from time, receiving a through pass from Tom Carter and rounding under pressure keeper Alex Smits again to confirm the three points.
