Greville relishing return as Kings Langley enter important period
Liam Greville has recently returned to action after a broken hand disrupted what had been a positive start to life under Steve Heath, and he’s ready to make a difference now he’s fit and firing once more.
“It was very frustrating having to watch on from the sidelines, especially with the injury occurring after a nothing incident.
“It’s been good that the team have managed to continue the good form which we had already slowly started building and I hope we can replicate it over the second half of the season.
“Now, I’m hoping I can get back to the form that I was starting to show before my injury happened and get back to helping push the team on.”
The former Aylesbury United man honed his development at West Herts College, before moving onto the University of Birmingham, where he has since graduated.
He soon impressed after joining the side, and is thriving under the stewardship of Steve Heath and his assistant Joe Sweeney.
“I have enjoyed playing under both Steve and Joe since joining.
“After coming in during what was perhaps a shaky period for the team, it feels like we have a very good dressing room which is being continually helped under their guidance.”
Since a difficult opening month, Kings have gone from strength to strength and now find themselves well within what is a fascinating battle at the top of the table.
A highly competitive, tightly packed division has made it difficult for anyone to pull away so far, but the hectic winter schedule is where the best often become separated from the rest.
Greville insists his side are ready and looking forward to the challenges that await them.
“I think the team is well prepared, with good depth across all positions.
“There are a lot of teams in the league who are separated by a small amount of points, so it’s important we just keep winning our games.”
That is all Heath’s side can do. Look after their business and see where it takes them come the end of the season.
Greville’s ambitions, though, are clear.
“As a team, promotion has got to be the target with the position we are currently in. With so many teams in with a chance, playoffs has to be the minimum.
“Personally, I want to have a strong second half of the season and try to push on from where I was prior to the setback.”
Everyone concerned with Kings Langley will be delighted to see Greville back on the pitch in a white and black shirt, and here’s hoping he can continue where he left off and help make some special memories as a season full of potential reaches a pivotal point.
