Derby day offers a shot at consecutive wins for Kings Langley!

Kings Langley will look to make it two home wins in four days, as Leverstock Green are in town for the delayed ‘Deckchair Derby’.

Before Saturday’s triumph against North Leigh, The Orbital Fasteners Stadium had seen only two Kings wins all season, but now they have a chance to double that tally within the space of a week.

It was always going to be an important spell for them, facing the league’s bottom two sides back-to-back, and they kicked off the period in perfect fashion with a 3-0 win over the Millers.

Jonathan Lawson was in fine form, bagging his first goal for the club and quickly following it up with a second, while Bradley Smith returned to the scoresheet with a free-kick. It was a solid, disciplined performance from everyone in the squad and it led to 90 minutes of total domination on home turf.

Now, they must look to do it all again. Three points at the weekend helped to move them away from the lower end of the table and if they can repeat the feat on Tuesday, any lingering worries of the drop will be banished.

Indeed, only six points separate 16th and 8th - with Kings in spot 14 - so a touch of momentum and a winning run could do wonders in propelling them back into the top half, with a keen eye on the playoff places.

The Green have struggled somewhat since their promotion last season. Sat in 20th place, they’ve picked up only 15 points and two wins so far this campaign. However, the new year has started with a slight upturn for the team, defeating Stevenage 4-2 in the Herts Senior Cup and claiming a couple of impressive points against Beaconsfield and Hertford Town.

Their undefeated opening to 2025 came to an end on Saturday, losing out 3-1 away at Real Bedford, but they’ll hope to bounce back against local neighbours Kings.

Lewis Collins is a man to watch after a brace in the win against Stevenage, and Luke Beckwith could prove a danger off the bench, with four league goals this season.

Joint top-scoring with him is Guiseppe Delgaudio, and Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica has been highlighted as a threat by Deckchair Pete, with his fast pace and nifty footwork. Former Kings man Gary Connolly will make his return to WD4.

They offer a serious physical threat, with a big and experienced lineup, and Kings will have to stand their ground and match their visitors punch for punch.

With some other teams around them not in action in the midweek schedule, it’s a huge chance for Kings Langley to further push themselves away from the pack and up the league table. Jordan Parkes will be determined for his side to take what looks like a tantalising opportunity and they’ll need your support.

Get yourselves down to the ground on Tuesday evening for the 7.45 kick-off, as it’s finally time for derby day!
