First home game of the year beckons for Kings Langley.
Kings Langley will return to The Orbital Fasteners Stadium for the first time in 2025 on Saturday, when Biggleswade FC are the visitors.
The year started in disappointing fashion for Kings, who lost out away at Hadley on New Year’s Day, and that defeat continued a rather sorry patch of form that has seen them slip away from the playoff places, with just the single victory over Real Bedford to speak of since the end of October.
Two early second half goals condemned them to their fate on Wednesday, with Lance Williams’s strike not enough to claw his side back into the tie in the wet and blustery conditions.
Biggleswade, meanwhile, had quite the contrary experience as they claimed an impressive 3-0 win over AFC Dunstable. That result saw them climb above Kings in the league standings, and with them also having a game in hand, Jordan Parkes will feel his men must win on Saturday to keep in touch with their opponents.
There was a 13th goal of the season for leading scorer Daniel Bond and he looks like the man who must be stopped, with the Kings backline, including Charne Lemba, sure to have their hands full once more.
Striker Amir Hadi is next best for the side coached by Dave Northfield and Mark Inskip, with midfield man Lawrie Marsh ever-present, having made over 100 appearances for the club.
Kings Langley ran out 3-1 winners when the sides met at The Eyrie in the reverse fixture in early October, and how they would desperately love to repeat their success and get their first points on the board of 2025 on Saturday.
If they could, it may just spark a much-needed run of results for Kings, who will face the division’s two bottom sides in North Leigh and Leverstock Green later this month.
Again, eyes will be fixed on new man Jonathan Lawson, who is still looking for his first goal at the club since joining on loan from the Watford FC Academy at the backend of last year, and his strike partner Lance Williams, as the pair look to form a dominating duo at the top end of the pitch.
Get yourselves down to The Orbital Fasteners Stadium on Saturday afternoon and continue the great support shown to the side in recent weeks, as they bid to bounce back from three consecutive defeats. Kick off is at 3pm and tickets are available on the door.
