Manager Steve Heath has expressed his satisfaction with a productive pre-season, describing it as a period full of promise, progress, and preparation. As the new season kicks off this Saturday, Heath remains optimistic about the team's readiness and cohesion.
“We’ve had a really good few weeks,” said Heath. “The lads have worked hard, we’ve got minutes into everyone, and we’ve seen some real positives on the pitch.”
The pre-season fixtures provided an opportunity to integrate new signings, test tactical variations, and build fitness across the squad. Heath noted improvements not just in performance but also in team spirit and unity- key factors he believes will play a major role in the club’s ambitions this season.
Looking ahead to Saturday's opener, Heath admitted there’s always a mix of nerves and excitement. “There’s nothing quite like the buzz of the first game. We know it won’t be easy, but we’re going into it prepared and confident.”
He also praised the support from fans during the pre-season campaign and hopes they’ll continue to back the team when the competitive fixtures begin. “Their support makes a real difference - home or away, we’ll need that energy.”
As the countdown to Saturday begins, Kings supporters will no doubt be looking forward to seeing their new look squad, albeit including some familiar faces, take to the pitch at The Orbital Fasteners Stadium once again.
Tickets for Saturday's match will be on sale on the turnstiles and priced at £10 for Adults, £7 for Concessions and £2 for U18's.
