As the grassroots season begins to draw to a close, we've been catching up with those responsible for it's continued growth to find out how the season has gone., first up is Head of Girls Football, Karl Thomas.
It’s been a fantastic year for girls’ football at Kings Langley FC, and I couldn’t be prouder of the progress we’ve made both on and off the pitch.
We’ve seen a real growth in numbers this season, with more girls than ever pulling on the Kings Langley shirt. The increase in teams across age groups has been brilliant to see, and it reflects the growing passion for the game within our community. Our all-girls team in the West Herts Youth League have more than held their own, opened eyes and minds and represented the club with real pride.
Several of our players have gone on to join Player Development Centres and Emerging Talent Centres, which is a huge testament to their talent and hard work – and to the brilliant coaching environment we’re building here.
Off the pitch, we’ve strengthened our identity through partnerships with WUKA and Her Game Too, standing proudly for equality, inclusion, and opportunity in the women’s game.
We’re already planning for further growth next season, with more teams, more opportunities, and more ways for girls to get involved in football at every level.
The future’s bright, and the future is Kings Langley Girls.
