With club legend and 300 club member Gary Connolly set to return to the club with Leverstock Green, we revisit his recent interview with the club.

Legend is a phrase bandied about in elite football very easily in this day and age, but
when someone is regarded as a legend in non-league you know they are someone
held in very high regard by those who support the club.

And when it comes to Kings Langley legends Gary Connolly is right up there.
‘Kings Langley means so much to me. The club has been a part of most of my football career.’ he says as we catch up with him.
‘I’ve got so many memories, been a part of ups and downs but I wouldn’t change a thing. The unity of the club, both on and off the pitch is what makes it ‘Little Old Langley’.

Gary, who made 304 appearances for Langley over an 11 year period, reflects on his favourite memory from his time at the club.

Scoring a last minute winner on my daughter’s anniversary’ he says without hesitation.
‘Being surrounded by everyone at that moment will stay with me for a life time.’

‘As well as those special moments with everyone involved at the club, Connolly was fortunate enough to be able to share a pitch with his brother Kyle who he regards as one of the best he has played alongside.

‘I’ve played with so many good players, to chose the best is a tough one. If we are talking about all round players then I had to say either my brother Kyle or JJ (Jorell Johnson).’

The impact of team mates on Gary’s time at the club is matched by those who support the team from the side lines and he has a special message for them.

‘Kings Langley is all about the community. If there’s no connection between supporters and players, it doesn’t work. I will be forever grateful to the supporters (they know who they are) who helped me during my time at the club.
