Kings Langley FC return to FA Vase action this Saturday, 12 September, when we welcome Bugbrooke St Michaels to the Orbital Fasteners Stadium in the Second Round Qualifying of the 2026/27 Isuzu FA Vase.

With a place in the First Round Proper at stake, there is plenty to look forward to as Langley begin their journey in one of non-league football's most prestigious knockout competitions.

What is the FA Vase?

The FA Vase is a national knockout competition organised by The Football Association, primarily for clubs playing at Steps 5 and 6 of the National League System.

It has a long and proud history within the English non-league game, providing clubs with the opportunity to compete against teams from across the country and, ultimately, to reach a national final at Wembley Stadium.

For clubs and supporters at this level, the competition offers the excitement of cup football, where one result can make the difference between progressing to the next round or seeing the journey come to an end.

The Road to Wembley

The 2026/27 FA Vase features 601 clubs, with the competition beginning with the First Round Qualifying on 15 August. The Second Round Qualifying takes place on Saturday 12 September, before the First Round Proper begins on 10 October.

The competition then progresses through a series of knockout rounds:

The final is scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 16 May 2027.

Saturday's Tie

The draw has given Kings Langley a home tie against Bugbrooke St Michaels, with the match scheduled for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 12 September.

This is the Second Round Qualifying stage of the competition, meaning a win would take Langley into the First Round Proper.

There are no replays in the FA Vase. Should the scores be level after 90 minutes, the winner will be decided by a penalty shoot-out.

That makes Saturday's fixture particularly significant: there will be no second opportunity or replay, so everything will be decided on the day.

There is More at Stake Than Just Progression

The FA Vase also provides financial rewards as clubs progress through the competition.

At the Second Round Qualifying stage, the winning club receives £725, while the losing club receives £225 from the competition prize fund.

Those rewards increase as the competition progresses, with the eventual FA Vase winners receiving £30,000.
