After Saturday's narrow 2-1 defeat away at Baldock Town, Steve Heath's side have an immediate opportunity to respond – but they face one of the toughest tests of the season so far.

The Opposition

Risborough Rangers have made an outstanding start to the new campaign and arrive in Kings Langley sitting at the top end of the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division.

Rangers have been particularly impressive in front of goal this season, with their September results including a remarkable 10-2 victory away at Everett Rovers, a 6-1 FA Vase win over Northampton Sileby Rangers and a 2-1 league victory against Dunstable.

They continued that form on Saturday with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Wormley Rovers, with Elliott Buchanan and Nathan Muir both scoring twice as Rangers maintained their excellent start to the campaign.

It means Kings will know exactly the size of the challenge waiting for them when the visitors arrive at the Orbital.

Back at Home

Saturday's trip to Baldock ended in frustration for Kings, with the hosts taking the points following a 2-1 victory.

But there is little time to dwell on the result.

Tomorrow provides the perfect opportunity to respond, and Kings will be hoping a return to familiar surroundings – and the backing of the home support – can help them produce a big performance against the league's early pace-setters.

It promises to be an intriguing contest between two sides with plenty of ambition this season.

And there will be another meeting between the clubs before long, with Kings due to travel to Risborough later in October in the Premier Division Cup.

First, though, all eyes are on Tuesday night.
