Club Statement: Players Leave Kings Langley

Hitchcock, Ward and Doyley move on to new pastures

It is with no little sadness that Kings Langley FC must announce the departure of two of the club's longest serving players in Stevie Ward and Dean Hitchcock.

Both players featured prominently in the club's spectacular promotion journeys and were massively popular with the club's fan base.

Wardie's ability to make the vital breakthrough in high pressure games earned the talisman forward a cult following at the club and many of the club's 'die-hard' supporters will shed a tear at his exit and they will look back on his individual exploits with the fondest memories. Those exploits will, quite rightly, see Stevie Ward remembered as a legend of Kings Langley football club.

The industrious Hitchcock is another who has contributed hugely to the club's meteoric rise up the non-league pyramid and another firm fan favourite. The epitome of a midfield 'general', Dean's 'laser like' passing and long range shooting were regular features of the 'Kings' promotion campaigns.

Another departure from the club is the veteran ex-professional Lloyd Doyley. Lloyd, in his short tenure with the club endeared himself greatly with both fans and playing colleagues alike for his cool - headedness under pressure and willingness to impart his wealth of experience to those around him.

Doyley, a very popular figure both on and off the pitch, leaves to join the management team at National League side Boreham Wood and the club wish him every success in this new endeavour.

To a man each will be greatly missed in the 'Kings' ranks but they leave with the club's best wishes and encouragement to pursue their careers at pastures new. All three can be assured of the warmest of welcomes whenever they return to the Orbital Fasteners stadium.
