At every football club, the results on the pitch only tell part of the story. Behind the badge at Kings Langley FC is a dedicated group of volunteers whose tireless work keeps the club running day in, day out — often without recognition, but never without impact.
Leading the club is Chairman Darren Eliot, whose steady guidance helps shape the direction and long-term vision of Kings Langley.
Working alongside him is Club Secretary Derry Edgar, the administrative backbone of the club, ensuring everything from league compliance to matchday organisation runs smoothly.
At the heart of the club’s future is its thriving youth section. Dave Hopkinson, Youth Secretary, has been instrumental in this area for a number of years As he prepares to step down this summer, his contribution leaves a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.
Supporting the youth pathway is Head of Youth Ashley Lawrence, who continues to oversee development and progression for young players across all age groups.
Few roles are as wide-ranging as that of Tom Sterling, who juggles responsibilities across safeguarding, finances, youth fixtures and commercial operations. His work ensures the club not only functions safely and responsibly but continues to grow both on and off the pitch.
Connecting the club to its supporters and the wider community is Dean Wigzell, Head of Community and Media. From matchday coverage to community engagement, his efforts help tell the story of Kings Langley and strengthen its local ties.
The growth of the women’s and girls’ game has been a key part of the club’s recent progress, thanks in no small part to Karl Thomas, Head of Girls Football. As he steps down this summer, he does so having played a vital role in expanding opportunities for female players at the club.
Behind the scenes, ensuring teams are prepared and equipped, is Andy Ineson, who has overseen kit and equipment. Also stepping down this summer, his often unseen work has been essential to the smooth running of matchdays and training sessions.
Completing the committee is Vice Chairman Roy Mitchard, whose roles span first-team fixtures and club historian. His knowledge of the club’s past, combined with his work in the present, helps maintain a strong sense of identity and continuity.
Together, this group embodies the spirit of non-league football — commitment, passion, and community. As some prepare to step aside, their contributions will not be forgotten, and their impact will continue to be felt throughout Kings Langley FC for years to come.
