After four consecutive away trips, Kings Langley make their long-awaited return to The Orbital Fasteners Stadium on Tuesday evening, welcoming neighbours St Albans City in the first of two home pre-season friendlies this week.
With the opening league fixture now less than three weeks away, Jordan Parkes will be looking to see a sharp and cohesive performance from the boys against their National League South opponents.
Kings would have been able to take plenty of positives in spite of their narrow loss at Southall last Monday, particularly given the 48-hour turnaround following the victory at Tring. Jordan will be hoping that the subsequent four-goal defeat at Haywards Heath on Saturday afternoon can be quickly forgotten as he continues to build towards the big kick-off.
We continue a recent tradition of hosting the Saints in a pre-season warm-up game, having done so before each of the last two campaigns. City ran out 2-1 winners back in July 2021, but Kings won the last match between the sides 1-0 almost exactly 12 months ago.
Some familiar faces will arrive back at The Orbital Fasteners with our opponents. Centre forward Mitchell Weiss scored 41 goals across three successful years for Langley before joining St Albans in August 2020, while midfielder Andronicos Georgiou has also just signed for Saints after a solid year with Kings last season.
The match will get underway at 7.45pm. We look forward to another great game!
