Match report

No. 34    Saturday 17th January 2015.     Spartan South Midlands League – Premier Division
Sun Sports                    0
Kings Langley               7 (Hutchins 6, 35, 51, Jackson 12, 38, 55, Debayo 88)
Danny Hutchins and Nick Jackson bagged a hat trick each as Kings emphatically ended Sun’s run of four wins in this local derby. The management duo made one change, parading new signing Joe Debayo, but changed the formation radically and as the home team struggled to get to grips with it, Alex Campana floated in a pin-point cross from the left for Danny Hutchins to execute a glancing header past Ross Hampton. Campana, clearly relishing the space wide left in a front three, cut inside with a jinking run five minutes later and Hampton could only tip his fierce shot onto the crossbar for Nick Jackson to net the rebound from close range. Sun had a moment when the assistant’s flag stayed down and Carl Penny was through, but Ant Ladyman made a superb block and Kings killed the contest with two goals in three minutes before the break. Mitchell Weiss challenged the shared possession of keeper and defender, the ball ran free and Danny Hutchins lobbed the backpedalling custodian from a position almost on the touchline. Hutchins then picked out Jackson and the skipper controlled the ball, twisted past a defender and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the net. Any thoughts of a quieter second half were dispelled as Kings added two more in the first ten minutes. A perfect diagonal cross field ball from Weiss found Danny Hutchins, who was similarly enjoying his wide right role, and he took it in his stride to complete his hat trick. Not to be outdone, Nick Jackson rose to head home a Connor Toomey cross as everything Kings did turned to gold. Home skipper Ashley Lewis was dismissed for a second yellow and as frustrations boiled over, a trespass in the away technical area by a member of the home bench resulted in a scuffle and three dismissals from the dugouts. It failed to take the shine off of an exuberant Langley performance though, completed when a Campana corner was only parried by the keeper and Joe Debayo marked his debut with the seventh goal.
