No. 27 Saturday 14th December 2013. Spartan South Midlands League – Division 1
Stony Stratford Town 0
Kings Langley 10 (Carter 16, Campana 22,44,87, Connolly 41, Hallissey 50,82, Pritchard 85, 90+1, Adebiyi 86)
A ruthless Kings Langley showed no mercy as they demolished a Stony Stratford side under new management, hitting double figures for the second time this season. Tom Carter opened the scoring with a side foot volley from an Alex Campana free kick and Connor Toomey had a well-placed header tipped over by Jack Taylor, before the previous roles were reversed and Campana made space for himself to net the second from a Carter cross. The visitors turned the screw just before the interval when Gary Connolly exchanged a neat one two with Campana to score with an angled shot and the latter then had his run halted but somehow converted from a prone position while surrounded by three defenders. The onslaught resumed in the second half when Adam Hallissey came back from an offside position to launch another run and beat Taylor and Stony’s cause was not helped when Matt Way earnt himself a second yellow from a reluctant referee. Further controversy followed when Paul Insley, on for a mere nine minutes, was felled from behind, the referee pointing to the spot for a clear penalty, only to change his mind on consultation with an assistant. The forward was unable to continue, but a minute later an astute Luke Ladyman pass and an Alex Campana cross found Hallissey central eight yards out with an embarrassment of time and space to make it 6-0. The last eight minutes saw the demoralized home side capitulate as Campana hit a post and Lewis Pritchard net with an acrobatic head height kick, and Callum Adebiyi celebrate a mazy solo run for a fine goal. There was still time for Campana to complete a hat trick from Jack Johnson’s cross and the scorer turned provider again for Lewis Pritchard to pick his spot for a perfect ten.
