A relentless tide of three games a week allied to a winter that won’t let go, sees Kings in the doldrums as they again failed to match their recent League failures to their Cup successes. Winslow came with a plan that worked, a long ball through to two lively and pacey forwards and a high defensive line, and when Kings adopted similar first half tactics, the glut of offside flags was always going to produce contentious moments. One duly arrived in the 25th minute when United’s Claude Seanla ran on to a high through ball to lob Ross Hampton with the home defence appealing. The decision looked tight, to say the least, but when Adam Hallissey found the net at the other end the visitors were relieved to see the flag go up. Three minutes before the break Kings were level, a Nathan Pooley free kick flicked across goal by Jimmy Armstrong for Craig Lynskey to find the bottom corner with the outside of his foot. However, Kings fell for the same sucker punch within four minutes of the break, another towering ball finding the head of Vinny Shrieves to carry its momentum over the keeper. The remainder of the match did little to warm the faithful few, as United shut up shop, contested every decision and attempted to run the clock down. Kings didn’t play badly, now using their wings well, but as they laid siege, a catalogue of appalling misses allied to some sound goalkeeping by Mark Osborn orchestrated their own downfall as the visitors goal seemed at times to have a charmed life. When Craig Lynskey beat Osborn at the death, only to see the lob go inches wide of the post, the game was up in more ways than one..      Line-up:- (4-3-3)
