Match report

No. 41   28th March 2013.     Spartan South Midlands League - Division 1
Kings Langley                 2 (Jimmy Armstrong 19, Adam Hallissey 24)
London Lions                  4 (Sam Scoma 58,Adam Bolle 78, David Souter 81, Josh Kennet 90+3)
Kings recent poor League form continued as they failed to replicate the previous week’s result against Lions and let a two goal advantage slip in the process. Early chances for Shaun Owens and Jack Johnson were matched by Adam Bolle at the other end, before a Liam James run from defence was capped by a powerful shot that was only partially saved and in the ensuing scramble Jimmy Armstrong forced the ball home. Five minutes later Sam Warrell’s shot was blocked and the ball fell to Adam Hallissey who doubled the advantage. However, the second half was a different story as instead of closing the game out Kings were guilty of committing too many players forward for a corner and Sam Scoma took the ball from the halfway line past Jack Pattison to reduce the deficit. A Jimmy Armstrong shot was cleared off the line and Lions then made a double substitution that was to prove a match-winner. Kings own double change of the two goalscorers had nowhere near the same effect and the visitors equalized when Scoma replicated the move for the first goal. This time Ross Hampton pulled off a superb save but Adam Bolle was on hand to knock the ball in. Minutes later, with the wall still lining up, David Souter’s quick free kick found the net and all Kings’ protests fell on deaf ears. From a first half in control, Kings were now chasing the game and their composure became more ragged as an extra 8 minutes saw Liam James dismissed for a clash with the keeper and Josh Kennet lob an exposed Ross Hampton four a fourth. With just one point from the last twelve on offer, Kings management will be concerned at the possibility of a slide into mid- table mediocrity.     Line-up:- (4-3-3)
