lNo. 5 21st August 2012. Spartan South Midlands League - Division 1
Amersham Town 1 (Shane Thomas 48)
Kings Langley 6 (Craig Lynskey 51,89, Liam James 57, Shaun Owens 67, Gary Coyle 74, Tom Carter 75)
Kings dominated the first forty minutes as their passing game set up a torrent of chances, only for them to be denied by impressive keeper Carl Morley or their own inability to finish. Sam Warrell, Nathan Pooley, Craig Lynskey and Evan Connolly had shots saved, while Liam James and both Connolly and Warrell were guilty of glaring misses. Encouraged by this, Town finished the half on a high, when Stuart Bryant fired over and Ricci Putnam brought the best out of Dan Rice and almost inevitably went ahead in the second minute of the new half when Shane Thomas eluded the defence. Clearly stung by this, Kings responded, Craig Lynskey sent through and beating the keeper and defender from a narrow angle. A Sam Warrell free kick saw Callum Adebiyi’s header blocked by the keeper, but Liam James prodded home the loose ball, before a flowing move found Shaun Owens on the right, who finished confidently. With the flood gates now open, Craig Lynskey’s cross was deftly moved on by Evan Connolly for Gary Coyle to flick the ball inside the post in some style, before Tom Carter was introduced from the bench. Having already scored twice this season in similar circumstances, he went one better, firing in a 20 yard missile with his first touch after 45 seconds. Craig Lynskey completed the scoring, and a sparkling team performance, in the last minute, following another good move involving Tom Carter and Gary Coyle. Line-up (4-4-2)
